'The News from Lake Wobegon'

The Sidetrack Tap is closed because Wally had a heart attack. He had a triple bypass and he's taking a pain killer called Norvalt. A lot of people, including Mr. Berge went on the wagon. When he's sober, you realize that Mr. Berge is just an overbearing blowhard. He gets his way because people are so polite in LW. When he was mayor, he convinced the council to fix up and reopen the Prairie Moon theater. It reopened last week with a feature about a senior citizen's kazoo band on a bus. tour of Sweden. It reminded you of Grandma and Grandpa asking you to go look at the fall colors. You told them that you couldn't because you had homework. It reminded you at all of those terrible car trips that you took as a kid. GK gets a thrill when he goes by an auto wrecking yard. Junked automobiles are beautiful. Daryl's white Ford convertible used to sit in a used car lot. They lived a sophisticated life in Minneapolis for a few years. Marilyn now works full time bringing up the kids. They went to a movie, "Headlights" in St. Cloud. Pastor Inkvuist went to the same raunchy tasteless movie. They talk about the movie afterward.

Other mentions/discussions during the show
