The show will end in the middle of June and it is harder and harder to tell LW stories. GK feels a pressure to try to make sense of the people in LW. He sat down and made charts of the families in LW. The best stories are when GK just drops in. The opening line avoids all of the problems of writer's first line. It really was a quiet week in LW and it rained all day. The farmers sat in LW and told old stories. The joke about the dog that would go to the tavern and fetch cigarettes. The story of the four singing Swensen sisters, who won the Winter Talent Contest. They went to Hollywood to make a movie, "Minnesota Moon." The movie was a disaster and ended their careers. Don't think that you are better than anyone else. GK remembers a school trip to the State Capital. Being introduced to the Governor by the wrong first name. GK memorized poems to get away from LW. GK recites a Walt Whitman poem.
