'The News from Lake Wobegon'

Pastor Ingqvist and Judy are back from Florida. His sermon had sweetness and generosity. The Leonards have lost 6 of 7 games. GK's old friend, Jim, now sings in the LW choir and he looks heavy and old. GK, Jim, and Paul had a R&R band, The Pharoahs of Rhythm. Three guitars and Buddy Holly songs. They loved Buddy Holly, who was a decent guy. GK tried to sing Chantilly Lace morally. They thought they could form a decent R&R band and become rich. GK went out with Jim's sister, Jeanette, who was a Pat Boone fan. Buddy Holly died on February 3, 1959 in a plane crash in Mason City, IA. They decided to drive to the crash site. They got directions from a gas station and. followed a sheriff's car to the crash site. GK saw the neck of Buddy Holly's blue guitar sticking out of the snow. They got into the car and drove home. GK knew that he wouldn't marry Jeanette and he'd leave LW.
