'The News from Lake Wobegon'

Hell's Angels come to the Sidetrack tap. Prayer meeting / People were surprised when GK went to the Wednesday night prayer meeting. On the way, he stopped at the Sidetrack Tap to shock himself. Rolly Mueller asked him how he was doing. GK said, 'Not so bad." Rolly said, "People don't know how to tell stories anymore. You tell lies." Wally said that GK shouldn't drink beer before prayer meeting. Business in LW dried up after the Highway Department removed the detour that had send traffic through town. The LW Council voted against asking for another detour. Clifford put up a sign that said "Lake Wobegon - Free Coffee." They heard a roar of engines and five particularly ugly motorcyclists came into the Sidetrack asking for free beer. Rolly tripped and dropped his beer bottle. As he fell, he place-kicked the bottle into the forehead of the leading thug who pushed over the other thugs. GK ducked out of the back door and went to the prayer meeting. They assumed that GK had come into town with the motorcyclists. After the prayer meeting, GK went back to the Sidetrack. Rolly said that he told the motorcyclist to leave and they left. They took down the "Free Coffee" sign.
