'The News from Lake Wobegon'

Aunt Mae's funeral. Pet funerals / The snow in the first week of May was like a fifth season. The Unknown Norwegian looks worried in the afternoon. GK wanted more ceremony when he was young. Our Lady Church was awesome because of the statues with eyes and hands reaching out to him. The Lutheran Church was as bare as granary. He used to play weddings and funerals with his brothers and sisters. The funerals were modeled after Aunt May's funeral. Everybody was so quiet and so nice. Adult funerals were held in the Lundburg' s front parlor. The kids had funerals when their pet's died. When Pinky the cat was run over, he was buried with a full funeral. Casper Krepsbach threw crab apples until GK's sister beat him up.
