'The News from Lake Wobegon'

A warm snap let Lyle go out and get his lawn mower from the back yard. The Knutes discuss the weight of wet versus dry snow. The pond of water on top of the ice on top of LW worries the people in their snow houses. Paul Tollefsen, Mel and Esther's boy, came home to visit without his wife. He discussed his 11- month marriage with his mother. Some men are lucky to not get what they want so they appreciate what they have. The man who did not win the hand of the Queen of the Snow Dance was lucky to get the girl with a sense of humor. Father Emil doesn't have Pastor Ingqvist's problem of having written a sermon on forbearance and then fighting with his wife. Mel came home and told Paul to go home to his wife. Mel was in a bad mood because he is battling with his brother-in-law, Louie, in the Lutheran bible study class. They had a heated theological discussion about speaking in tongues. Pastor Ingqvist hopes it colder soon.
