'The News from Lake Wobegon'

The exiles return. Stopping at a bar for a last drink and cigarette. Warnings to the grandchildren about how to behave. A voice from the back seat said, 'Who is God?' 'Jesus Christ, what am I going to do now?' Intense housekeeping. Hors d'oeuvres at the Tolefsen's. Coffee table food surprised the dog. The Inkvuists were surprised that Chip wrote that he was bringing his friend, Pamela. The LW Lutheran's decided that they didn't need Thanksgiving Day service and reversed themselves the week before. Virginia Inkvuist tried a new recipe for deboned turkey. It was a harrowing experience. The turkey looked like it had been in a head-on collision. She made a casserole at the last moment that was served in bowls. Barbara Ann was alone with her mother in the kitchen where she could talk to her mother. They sang, 'Tell me why.'

Other mentions/discussions during the show

Christmas shopping season began on Friday. Christmas is really a very' simple holiday - a festival for light in the darkest time of the year. Poem to the Flying Dutch woman.
