The Whippets lost a double header and are now 0-6. People lied to GK when he was a child. Lying to Aunt Pearl about swiping her peanut butter cookies. Pastor Inkvuist is on his 3-week vacation. His replacement is not the usual White-Knuckled Seminarian (WKS). It is Reverend Turnblad who retired after fifty years in the pulpit and who preaches for hours. They are missing Pastor Inkvuist's six-page sermons. By the time the third Sunday arrived, the volunteer firemen arranged for Wally Dimmers (a Catholic) to ring the fire alarm as soon as mass was over. Reverend Turnblad preached on and on and finally when he was finished the siren went off. The firemen were starving but they had to run to the station. The backed the fire truck into the wall, damaging the siren. It now has such an ominous mournful note that they stopped sounding the noon alarm. Joke about boiled Norwegian in the Cannibal Cafe.
