'The News from Lake Wobegon'

The Deener boy will shovel snow from your roof for $20, or $50 for the season. He has lots of business after Mr. Berge fell off the roof into a snow bank. Men shovel snow off the roof to prevent leaks or collapse. The real reason is to terrorize women. The custom bit the dust when every woman in town put her foot down. As a boy grows and his voice deepens, he starts shoveling off roofs. If you can't shovel off your roof, you should probably stop driving. Clarence Bunsen worked so hard shoveling his roof that he lay down and fell asleep. His arms and his jacket froze to the roof. He rolled back and forth and his bottle of schnapps. People drove by and waved at him but he couldn't wave back. He thought of calling for help but then who would come to rescue him. His nosy neighbor, Mrs. Askelund, stopped and asked if he needed help. He said that he was measuring the roof. He kicked on the roof to alert Arlene. He fears that Arlene is watching a 4-hour TV movie. Arlene came out and he told her his problem. She hooked open his zipper with a ski pole She made his favorite supper and helped him cover up his stupidity.
