'The News from Lake Wobegon'

Porch life has been in full swing. Clint and Irene Bunsen were drinking grape nectar. Father Emil doesn't believe in summer and dresses in his full collar. GK describes 'The Saints Gathered in the Name of Jesus Christ.' They met Aunt Genevieve's living room for two full hours on Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. Brother Dietz, a laboring brother, came, and spoke on the Chart of Time from Eternity to Eternity. He had a four-foot by six-foot canvas chart. The chart presented everything that one needed to know. Brother Dietz lived by free will offerings, so he did not need to take a vow of poverty. GK wondered, "Why do Christians mow their lawns?" Based on the Sermon on the Mount, GK wondered why we should work in the gardens. Brother Dietz came to Uncle Al's farm and help with hay baling. It was terribly hot and he looked horrible. He Dietz fell off of the hay rick and they had to take off his shirt. He had two tattoos on his forearms. Uncle Al said to forget them.
