'The News from Lake Wobegon'

GK flying to Denmark to get married. Herman Hocksteder started the living flag and then he suggested that red, white and green caps to form a living tree. It was very cold, but 600 people showed up. The next year only 60 people showed up to form a burning bush. Wendel Kruger introduced sheep to the Pageant at Our Lady. The 4 sheep were anxious to go astray. The door opened at the back, the sheep bolted straight through the angels and the heavenly host. The Lutheran pageant will be tonight. Judy Inqvist won't be directing. A woman suggested something different and was appointed on the spot. Judy read about beautiful decorations made from egg cartons and pine cones and decided to make Christmas wonderful for the children. She found that the kids want everything exactly the same. Christmas is magical because it brings back every year of our lives. Old Christmas comes back wrapped in the new Christmas. GK family stories. There was a painting of a silver wolf in Aunt Flo's. 60 years ago, Grandpa woke up all of the children late at night, dressed them and took them out in the field and there was a silver wolf. He stood perfectly still for a minute and then walked away. Years ago, GK's dad woke up and dressed the children to see the northern lights.
