Homecoming at LW High School. Carla Krepsbach was Homecoming Queen after Mrs. Hofer eliminated an inappropriate candidate because she had been down to the gravel pit several times. The Queen rides down Main Street on the forward part of a Sherman tank with an honor guard carrying drawn bayonets. Carla was very beautiful in her pale blue taffeta formal. Carl Krepsbach went to Myrtle and Florian's to fix their septic tank which had reached red alert. He used a back hoe and uncovered a 1937 Chevrolet coupe which had been the septic tank. He loaded the Chevy onto a wagon and towed it into town with a tractor. He turned right onto Main Street and found that he was the feature attraction. Straight ahead, the Parade headed towards him. He didn't make it to the next comer. He scattered the marching band and came nose to nose with the Sherman tank. Carla said, "How could you do this to me?" Carl backed and filled 22 times to turn the tractor and wagon. Then he led the Homecoming Parade.
