'The News from Lake Wobegon'

The clatter of the Norwegian bachelor farmers harvesting wheat with their 6-foot McCormick combines. Lake Street has two-story brick buildings on each side with names like the Olsen Block. In 1892, they hung a man by his belt for two hours for stealing. Many LW men have big bellies and their belts go under VG them.. Four little old ladies walk down Lake Street heading-for the Chatterbox. Three wear little old lady print dresses. Myrtle Krepsbach wears a purple pant suit, purple pumps, and a black wig. She looks like a forty year-old who has lived a very hard life. She has two pink daiquiris before supper each evening. Florian Krepsbach drives to town at a slow trolling speed in his 1966 Chevrolet with 42,000 miles on it. He opens the hood and wipes of the motor with a cloth soaked in gasoline. GK believes that God causes accomplished liars to be troubled by slight inaccuracies. If he can get the story absolutely perfect, then he will be transported back to LW. Minnesota is also made up, not real.
