'The News from Lake Wobegon'

First snow fell last week. Bud ran down and installed the plow on the truck but the snow melted first. Some people take pride in plowing a straight line. Bud has been trying to get the council to buy a new blade for the plow but LW is short of money. The old timber bridge has been ready to fall down for decades and it won't be replaced this year. The Heglund boy threw a rock that hit GK in the head. He came down sick with the flu and the doctor said he had four to six months to live. He was installed in the front bedroom. All of the relatives brought him presents. In March or April, he appeared at school. There wasn't any sentiment left for his resurrection. One day his mother hauled him out of bed and said, 'Clean up your room.' Moral. Get a second opinion. The crops are in and they're having harvest dinners. Catholics have turkey and Lutherans have lutefisk. Catholic lutefisk jokes about skunks under the porch.
