Our Lady church was packed for the Ash Wednesday service. There is no Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) celebration in LW. People were relieved to learn that they were dust not ice. Father Emil preached a sermon on renunciation. The Lutherans say it's easy for the Catholics to renounce because they never had that much fun in the first place. Some of the Lutherans can stand to do some fasting. The dream LW Leonards team lost to St. Agnes 52 to 48. They were much better than St Agnes. Some of the players did not go to school after a bad night's sleep. Mrs. Kruger told her son, Daryl, how her husband got sick during the wedding. He had been celebrating too much. The priest signed the license but she was not sure the marriage was legal. She said that she loved him even if he was illegitimate. He went to school and stumbled through his classes.
