The Bunsens noticed that their ’52 Studebaker was just about to hit 100,000 miles. They decided to go for a drive to watch the odometer turn but got distracted by a flock of birds and they missed the number flip over. Father Emil celebrated his 70th birthday, which brought him down. He was feeling quite heavyhearted. After the service, he lay down to take a nap but was awakened by the sound of children’s voices outside his window. They gave him a tie and cologne. After they left, he took another nap where he fell into a dream: children were leaving and he couldn’t stop them. God spoke to him in the dream asking him what he did to drive the children away. When he woke he needed to figure out what it meant. He decided to call a PTA meeting and said he wanted to build a recreation center for the children. The treasurer questioned it but Father Emil said that the Lord didn’t consider cost. The nuns secretly were working against him on this project.
